Snow!

We got snow! Real snow! Not just flurries. We don't have clothes for snow. Ha! I didn't even have Jenna a pair of gloves. But I let her go out for a few minutes on Friday night.

After about 3 minutes she decided she HAD to have some gloves. So we dug through the drawers in the coat closet and found the smallest pair we could find. She seemed ok with them. We even made a snow angel(kinda:).

On Saturday around lunchtime Jenna and I ventured out to Wal-Mart. I found her a cute hat and mittens and she was soooo excited to get home! She talked Papa into going outside with her. They built a snowman and tried to make another snow angel.

Carson and I watched from inside. (I love this picture!!!!)
Jenna's favorite part was eating the snow...obviously!

A day in the life of my princess

I should start this post out by saying that both of my children have been sick this week. Jenna has the croup and Carson has been teething and has a cold. So we have been in the house since Monday afternoon. Apparently the steroid that Jenna is on makes her imagination run wild!

Jenna runs up to me and informs me that she is Cinderella and needs a dress. We don't have a princess dress...so I got out her tutu that Mimi gave her for Christmas and found a tiara and that seemed to satisfy her...for about 5 seconds.
She then insists that she has to have a prince. She gets the idea that her "sweet boy" (Carson) has to be the prince and needs a "prince shirt", which I have no clue what that looks like. So she settled for a "prince hat"...

which he didn't like...and she was a little bummed...
She studied on her revolving princess light how to dance like a princess and was sure that her prince had to dance with her, which didn't happen since he can't even stand up on his own but we made it work.
Then it was time for a castle. She got out Carson's big blocks(there are only 4) and told her prince to build her a castle. When he didn't, she decided to do it on her own.
Apparently the prince was outraged by this...
and knocked down her castle.
Since she didn't have a place to live, she decided to run away. She went and got on her horse, Patch, and rode away exclaiming, "Where is my carriage and my bibbidi bobbidi boo?!?"
She rode Patch until she found her Mimi and convinced her that she should take over the role of princess.
And that, my friends, is a day in the life of my princess.

Birthday in Iraq

I found the cutest thing back in October on how to send a "cake" to Matt. You bake it in a pint size mason jar and seal it so that it will make it to Iraq and not be stale. Since our oven was broken I went to Matt's mom's house on New Years Eve/Day and we made them together. We made 6 small cakes and bought icing and plates to send with them. Thankfully, Matt has been asking for a new pillow so I was able to put the pillow in a box and then squeeze the jars in around it so they wouldn't break on the way to him. So here are the pictures he sent me of his cakes! :)

Happy Birthday Matt!

Today is Matt's birthday! When Jenna woke up this morning, I reminded her. She asked if we were going to have a cake. So of course I said yes. Jen and I celebrated his birthday while Carson was taking a nap this afternoon. Happy Birthday Matt! We miss you and can't wait to celebrate with you next month!

Ready for Church

Here are the kids right before we left for church with their new Christmas clothes on. Thanks Mimi and Papa!!!!! (Miss Priss wasn't cooperating.)

Bye Bye Binky

I am working on getting Jenna away from her binky. She loves it. I mean LOVES it. So as of New Years Day, she can only have it in the bed and in the car. When she gets out of the bed in the mornings she has put it in a cute little bucket beside her bed. The first morning we started this new way of life she wasn't letting that binky out of her sight. She carried the bucket around all morning.

I am happy to say that she has done so great with this. She still has her moments but every day she does better. Hopefully by the time Matt comes home on leave next month she will be a pro!

Happy New Year!

We spent New Years at Grandmother's house. We ate black eyed peas, greens and corn bread. We all sat at one table in honor of me and we had Krispy Kreme in honor of Lorinda! Ha! We opened Christmas presents because we wanted to wait until Lorinda got in town. Jenna got more stuff for her kitchen! Isn't this the cutest thing ever? She loves it!! And she also loves Lorinda! Happy New Year! I am so happy 2009 is over and we are excited about 2010. No more chemo in this house and Matt is coming home this year!
